Our Success

Measurable Results...

CIS dedicates itself to the underserved children--those who are in danger of "falling through the cracks" without community support. For these young people, succeeding in school, graduating and preparing for life can often feel like hopeless tasks. Many of them have lost the ability to dream a bigger dream for their lives.

CIS identified a very specific group of students for needed assistance in one or more of six areas — attendance, discipline, academic achievement, promotion, graduation, and dropout prevention. The results achieved by CIS programs are quite remarkable, given the increased presence of risk factors in the lives of the CIS-student population. These are young people who, without CIS' intervention, would likely fall far below the national average for student success. CIS of Florida is proud to share our students' progress.

CIS is fulfilling our mission with Florida's most at-risk youth and we proudly submit our 2007-2008 data for your review.

  • All CIS projects across the state witnessed successes in student learning and academic achievement.
  • CIS of Florida exceeded all benchmarks and minimum student outcome measurements requested by Florida Department of Education.
  • In 2006-07 academic year, the CISFL network served 31,583 of Florida's most at-risk children.
